Ramgen Power Systems, Inc. of Bellevue, Washington seeks qualified individuals with specialized mechanical and aerospace engineering education and experience to assist in the development of an innovative new power generation engine.

 

Combustion Engineer:

A combustion engineer is desired to support development of our revolutionary advanced vortex combustion technology. The position is to support ongoing research and development of combustor designs, experimentation, performance analysis, and conceptual designs of gas turbine combustion systems. A strong knowledge of the fundamentals of lean premix combustion and a background in combustion experimentation and instrumentation are very desirable.

Responsibilities could include PSR/PFR network and Chemkin-like modeling and analysis. Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modeling is not a priority.

Will work closely with our diverse engineering group and specialized subcontract engineers and analysts. Strong communication skills and high attention to detail is required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years relevant experience or

  • Master's degree with 0-2 years relevant experience.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:

Experienced mechanical design engineers will support development of our revolutionary gas compression technology. Should have a strong background in concept development, analysis, design, and experimentation with test rigs. Responsibilities could include swirl/de-swirl vanes, active tip clearance control, instrumentation, control and data acquisition, secondary flows, inlet and exhaust, skid design, and high-speed bearings.

Must be capable of component design, analysis, drafting, and GD&T in 3-D CAD (SolidWorks preferred). A solid history of creative designs and an ability to learn quickly are required.

Will work closely with our diverse engineering group and specialized subcontract engineers and analysts. Strong communication skills and high attention to detail required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience or

  • Master's degree with 3+ years relevant experience.

  • 3,000+ hours 3-D CAD

Turbocompressor Design Engineer:

Experienced mechanical design engineer will lead the design and layout of our revolutionary gas compressor static flowpath and structure. Must be capable of designing turbocompressor assemblies and components in 3-D CAD (SolidWorks preferred). Should have a strong background in concept development, analysis, design, and experimentation with rotating machinery test rigs. Familiarity with rotordynamics, heat transfer analysis, high-speed bearings, and internal turbomachinery flow fields strongly desired. Familiarity with supersonic flows would be beneficial.

Will have additional wide responsibilities across our diverse engineering group, including supervision and mentoring of technical staff, drawing review, and coordination of subcontractor engineers and analysts. Strong communication skills and high attention to detail required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years relevant experience or

  • Master's degree with 8+ years relevant experience.

Computational Fluid Dynamics Specialist:

Experienced CFD analyst desired for the simulation of high speed gas turbine-based internal turbomachinery flows and supersonic diffuser/inlet flow fields. Must be capable of utilizing custom and commercially available CFD software to simulate complex, compressible, 3-D, viscous internal turbomachinery and supersonic inlet flow fields. CFD simulations are to support ongoing research & development of component designs, experimentation, performance analysis, and conceptual device designs of a novel energy conversion technology. Will aid in all aspects of simulations and must be capable of working with a diverse engineering group. Good communication skills, attention to detail and work ethic required.

Qualifications:

  • Masters level degree with 5+ years relevant CFD experience or comparable background.

Compressible Internal Flow/Turbo-Machinery Aerodynamicist:

An experienced compressible flow aerodynamicist is desired to perform design and analysis of complex internal turbomachinery and supersonic diffuser/inlet flow fields. Must be capable of independent analysis, design, and modeling of integrated flow path systems as well as individual flow path subcomponents. Position is to support ongoing research & development of component designs, experimentation, performance analysis, and conceptual device designs of a novel energy conversion technology.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. with 5-10 years of relevant experience or

  • M.S./Ph.D. with relevant experience. CFD, combustion and performance analysis experience of turbomachinery systems a plus.
