On November 10, 2008, Dresser-Rand Group Inc. announced its investment in Ramgen as part of its long term strategic objective to maintain a technology leadership position in its industry. In total, Dresser-Rand expects to pay Ramgen up to an estimated $49 million to fund Ramgen’s development and demonstration of this technology, and to obtain and exercise an option to purchase the assets of Ramgen, plus a royalty dependent upon future equipment sales.

For more than 100 years, Dresser-Rand has been among the largest global suppliers of rotating equipment solutions, with field-proven centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, expanders, gas turbine packages, and control systems. Dresser-Rand is positioned to deliver a complete package of solutions, from initial concept to equipment retirement for the worldwide oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, and process industries.

The Company operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, India, and China, and maintains a network of service centers covering more than 140 countries.

The company was initially formed as a joint venture between the process compressor divisions of both Ingersoll-Rand and Dresser Industries, and subsequently grew through amalgamation and acquisition.

Dresser-Rand Group Inc. engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of rotating equipment solutions to the oil, gas, petrochemical, and process industries worldwide.

It offers various turbo products, such as compressors, gas and power turbines, hot gas expanders, and control systems used in various applications, including gas lift and injection, gas gathering, storage and transmission, synthetic fuels, ethylene, fertilizer, refineries, and chemical production; reciprocating compressors used in lower volume/higher compression ratio applications; and steam turbines used primarily to drive pumps, fans, blowers, and compressors for various industries, including oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical, pulp and paper, electrical power production and utilities, sugar, and palm oil.

The company offers its products under various brand names, including Dresser-Rand, Dresser-Clark, Ingersoll Rand, Worthington, Turbodyne, Terry, Coppus, Murray, Nadrowski, Gimpel, Enginuity, Arrow Industries, and Peter Brotherhood. It also provides a range of aftermarket parts and services.

The company sells its services and products through its independent sales representatives, direct sales/service personnel, a network of independent representatives, and service and support centers.

Dresser-Rand Group, Inc. was founded in 2004, completed its initial public offering of common stock in August 2005 (NYSE: DRC), and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
